Our group – dog training classes are an important component of our board and training program. Those who are invited to participate in these classes know our training system and their dogs have been trained by us and to our high training standards prior through boarding. With that in mind, our classes are exclusive to our current clients only and not open to the general public. This approach creates a safe environment for other well trained dogs and their owners to further their education and training.
OWNER EDUCATION
Owner education is crucial for the success of your dog’s training upon returning home. It includes understanding their behavior, knowing how to effectively communicate with them, how to properly implement training tools, and how to meet their needs on a physical, mental, and training level. Our program is unmatched and yields results because not only do we help train your dog, we also train you the dog’s owner.
SOCIALIZATION
Our number one goal with socialization is to get our dogs comfortable with new experiences, people, and other dogs. During group training, we’ll work on getting your dog socially neutral and to behave indifferently towards strange people and other canines alike.
For those owners who have dogs with reactivity or aggression problems, this component of our program is a huge benefit and is the next step in rehabilitating your dog’s issues once they’ve been trained in our board and train program.
DISTRACTION TRAINING
Once all the basics are solid, we move on to advanced obedience training. Here, we work on more complex commands and behaviors like ‘heel’ and ‘place’. We also focus on teaching your canine companion to respond to commands in high distracting environments and under varied circumstances such as out in public.
For our advanced obedience training we offer our Preferred Package, which is our famous 6 week board and train program.
CONTROL AND
RELIABLE RECALLS.
One of the most crucial aspects of obedience training is instilling control and teaching reliable recalls. A dog that comes back when called, irrespective of distractions, is a dog that’s safer and easier to handle. We use proven techniques to help your dog understand and reliably respond to the ‘come’ command, fostering an obedient and controlled pet.
At Elevated Canine Bakersfield, we practice a unique and complete, balanced approach to dog training. This means we use a blend of positive reinforcement to encourage desirable behaviors, along with corrections to discourage undesirable ones.
